No holiday for us! We bus to Lawson Army Airfield, "Freedom Hall" for wait for contract DC-10 to take us to Shannon Ireland and then Kuwait. Take off about 7 PM or so. We are flying over Massachusetts and the pilot points out that if we look below we can see many of the townships' Independence Day fireworks shows, which we can in the darkness below. Good sendoff from the US.
