Day off. Walked along the road to the Tanga Yacht Club with CPT Amanda Conene and SGT Barnett. Observed locals collecting shellfish or crabs on tidal flats at low tide near mid-day. Stopped for coke at roadside “bar” and walked back to Hotel Mkonge where drug delivery from Dr. Mwassa in Dar es Salaam was ready to unload. Large amount of “Grenade” permethin (cyhalethrin?) dip for ectoparsites, pistol grip syringes, and tylosin injectable. We call for a driver to take us into Tanga to shop for liquid soap to clean the syringes. We also find a stationery shop where I buy a Tanzania map, a post card and stamps to mail to the US.
